Food Can Cause Acne Flare Ups

Body News

Time and time again, we hear the phrase, you are what you eat. This goes true with the overall health of our bodies’ and dealing with acne. There are so many different factors that can cause a flare up that we must be careful with the kinds of food that we eat.

It’s a fact that acne flare ups happen because of hormonal and sebaceous gland activities complicated by bacteria-induced inflammation.  Stress and environment pollutants can also cause acne flare ups. However, many of us, yes that includes you (or else you wouldn’t be reading this) have experienced acne flare ups after eating certain types of foods specially our favorite fried, processed or fast foods

As good as pizza is and I love it too, we must limit if not avoid (during flare ups) the intake of pizza. There is so much grease on pizza that pretty soon your face might end up looking like the toppings. Unless of course you discovered a greaseless healthy pizza perhaps you wouldn’t mind sharing where you got it?

Anyways, back to our common problem, acne flare ups and foods. The food items that have been studied for their effects on acne are: milk and milk products, high glycemic index foods (refined carbohydrates), meat and poultry, fats and fatty acids, chocolates. These foods contain substances that trigger acne flare up like the hormones used in meats to artificially increase their bulk or the production of milk.

While the use of saturated oils for frying, using of oily sauces, gulping fizzy  artificial drinks and eating French fries along with the non-veggie fast foods  adds up your bodys’ high glycemic load that can result to acne flare ups.

What then is the answer to preventing acne? Simple, avoid the foods you noticed that seems to cause your acne flare ups and start a healthy eating and dieting practice. Also try to use an acne skin care system and be consistent with it.

If you still have flare ups even after doing the simple steps above, then it must be the time for you try a detox diet lifestyle or go visit Acne Clinics that may suggest light or laser acne treatments.
